PSI harnesses the vitality of the private sector to address health problems of the low-income and vulnerable populations using social marketing to achieve positive behavior change by promoting ideas, products and services conducive to better health. PSI promotes and distributes 11 health products, using commercial channels and outlets to make available quality health products at affordable prices. The basket of products includes condoms, oral contraceptives, intra uterine devices, emergency contraceptives, ORS, water purification solutions; IFA tablets; clean delivery kits and pre-packaged STI treatment kit.
PSI has rolled out a project to improve the maternal and child health outcomes by(1) rollout the World Health Organization Safe Childbirth Checklist program in birth facilities in approximately 36 districts in Uttar Pradesh, and (2) measure whether the program reduces complications and deaths of mothers and newborns. The Safe Childbirth Checklist Project is being implemented by the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) with financial assistance from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).

A. POSITION PURPOSE: We are seeking qualified professionals to work as the members of the Intervention Team under BetterBirth program. Each team will be involved in implementation of the safe childbirth checklist program in health facilities in a region comprising of 4-5 districts. The members of this team will work in close coordination with the public facility staff to facilitate adequate and appropriate program adoption.
Intervention Team Leaders will be responsible for the overall performance of the team. He/she will provide leadership and necessary support to team members and track the progress of intervention in his/her region.
B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide leadership to Intervention Team and supervise coach’s performance including activities such as approving work plans, field visits, and other project related activities. • Track the progress of intervention in the region against pre-defined benchmarks, identify focus areas, and solve operational issues in the region allocated. • Liaison with key officials at the public health facility and district levels to create an enabling environment for the project including obtaining necessary local approvals, seeking participation from officials in program related activities, and establish a feedback and reporting system. • Visit the health facilities with the intervention team members to introduce and facilitate implementation of safe childbirth checklist program. • Conduct regular visits to health facilities to observe the implementation of the program, checklist use, and coaching sessions with the facility-based intervention teams. Facilitate on-site technical assistance, mentor and monitor program activities using supportive supervision approach. • Facilitate in trainings and ToT (Training of Trainers) in the facilities as and when required. • Submit weekly progress reports for the team, make presentations and share experiences on internal review meetings and at different forums. • Hold weekly meetings with coaches and organize meetings with government officials, CMO’s, MOIC’s and other key stakeholders in the region.
C. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: • MBBS or Qualified Doctors, Ayush Doctors or BHMS with 5-8 years of experience. Additional Public health experience will be preferred. • Management qualification/experience, prior experience in large maternal and child health programs, preferably in Government settings. • Working knowledge of Hindi is an essential qualification for this position. • Demonstrated understanding of the behavior change communication and research.

MEDICAL CLINICAL COORDINATOR Qualification: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) or Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) or Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) or B.Sc. Nursing or equivalent degree WITH Degree or Diploma in Health Care Management or Hospital Management or Post Graduate Diploma in Health Care Management or Hospital Management or Masters in Hospital or Healthcare Management or Diploma in HR or Finance. Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience of coordinating clinical activities in a cardiac hospital or super specialty hospital and Experience of respective Education and Qualification will be given due weightage. Fresher will be considered as Trainee Medical Clinical Coordinator and will be paid Rs. 21,000/‐ per month. After completion of successful training, appointment will be considered as Medical Clinical Coordinator. Pay: Consolidated Pay of Rs.25,000/- per month. 10 % yearly increment on consolidated pay. Incentive policy of the Institute may be considered for the Medical Clinical Coordinator as per the requirement.
